!!! ATTENTION !!!
The following is a short explanation about the schedule using an example:
Game X is a team compo (5v5) and takes about 1h30min.
The format is Single Elimination.
Saturday:
Round 1: Starting at 10h
Round 2: Starting at 14h
Quarter Final: Starting at 20h
Sunday:
Semi Final: Starting at 10h
Final & 3rd place match: Starting at 14h
Rule 1: When your match is planned at 10h, you HAVE to play at 10h and not any time before or after that.
Rule 2: You'll get a 15 minute grace period at every compo (unless otherwise specified).
In those 15 minutes everyone has to connect to their respective servers and get ready. So the match should start at 10h15. When a team is not complete or does not show up at the given time, it will be disqualified.
→ When you notice that your team wont be up and running before 10h15 because of pc issues or any other valid reason, you will have to notify the admin of this fact. The admin might give you some extra time if it's a valid reason.
Rules
Rulebook
- General
Frag-o-Matic Counter-Strike: Source (CS:S) 5v5 tournament is a local area network (LAN) tournament. By competing in this tournament, teams and players accept these rules in full.
Teams which violate these rules will be sanctioned, and may be removed from the tournament without compensation. Such removal may also void any potential winnings for teams so removed.
Sanctions and disputes will be resolved by the main tournament admin SwAt ([email protected]). The admin’s decision on any sanction or dispute is final.
Abusive behavior towards the Frag-O-Matic staff, tournament admins or opponents at any time during the tournament is unacceptable and will be punished.
The clan leader or team captain is responsible for his team and all the players in that team. It is recommended that the team captain is fluent in English or Dutch, as he will be required to communicate with the tournament admins.
In the beginning of the LAN-party the team captains will sit together with the compo leader to discuss the rules to make adjustments if needed. The decisions are made by the compo leader. U can explain problems within the rules trough mail before 10th of September 2012. Mail : [email protected].
The team captain must read and understand the rules.
The team captain is responsible for ensuring his team and players know the rules fully. Ignorance of the rules is not an excuse for rule violations.
The team captain may choose at any time to nominate another player in or manager of his team as team captain for any reason. Such nominations must be reported by the team captain, either in person or in writing, to the tournament admins before the game starts.
All official communication between a competing team and the tournament admins must be conducted by the team captain.
Clarification of any point in the rules is available from the tournament admins at any time during the tournament.
- Tournament Structure and Schedule
The exact tournament structure will be announced once the number of teams competing is known.
Games may be scheduled to be played between 10:00 (start time) and 01:00 (scheduled end time of the last game) on Saturday and between 8:00 (start time) and 15:00 (scheduled end time of the last game) on Sunday.
Each match will be scheduled for a specific start time and must be played at that time, failure to connect to the assigned server within 15minutes will result in a dispute. This dispute is to be taken up with the admin.
The schedule for the tournament may be subject to change at any time.
Games may be rescheduled to a later time, delayed, postponed or cancelled at any time by the tournament admins without prior notice.
Games will not be rescheduled to an earlier time in the same day if either of the teams has not yet played a game on that day without the consent of both team captains.
Where possible the tournament admins will notify any teams involved in a rescheduled game of the new match start time at least one (1) hour before either the new or the old starting time, whichever is earlier.
In the event a game is cancelled, the tournament admins will notify the teams involved as quickly as reasonably possible.
- Match Rules
All matches in the group stage (pools) are played MR15, each team plays 15 rounds as Counter-Terrorists and 15 rounds as Terrorists on the map in the pools. All matches in the brackets are played MR15 , until 16 wins.
In the group stage, matches are played Best of One on a map decided by the admin . During the play-offs, a double elimination tournament structure is used. All games are Best of Three (Bo3) in the upper bracket, BO1 in the lower bracket both upper- and lower bracket decided by the VETO rules. The grand final is a best of 3 with map advantage (winning team from upper brackets only needs to win 1 match to win the tournament before the other team wins 2 matches!)
Defusing through walls, crates or any other object is not allowed. Not even Fake-deffing. The bomb must always be fully visible when defusing.
Throwing grenades/flashbangs/smokes across walls in maps is allowed (f.e. on de_dust2)
Boosting is not considered a bug.
Buying and using multiple grenades is allowed.
SourceTV demos must be recorded for each match. It is the responsibility of both team captains to ensure that SourceTV is recording.
Draws are not allowed. In case of a draw at the end of a map (15-15), overtime will be played using mr3 and mp_startmoney 10000. This overtime will be repeated if necessary until there is a winner.
If there is insufficient time to complete a match, the tournament admins may at any time declare one team the winner, if that team holds a clear advantage in that match. It is the responsibility of the tournament admins to decide whether a team holds a clear advantage. This rule will only be used as an emergency measure.
Matches will be played 5 on 5. Playing with fewer than five players in any match is only allowed with permission from the tournament admins.
All matches will be played using the latest version of CS: S and the official Frag-O-Matic CS: S server config. All matches have to be played on an official Frag-O-Matic CS: S Tournament server.
If any player alt-tabs out of the game and gets advantage in the game because of the flashbug, that player has to use the console command “retry” immediately after noticing this. Failure to do so will be considered as bug abuse and results in a forfeit loss.
No later than fifteen (15) minutes before the scheduled starting time of a match, the team captains must contact one of the tournament admins to state that their team is ready to play and to get server information. No delays will be tolerated and being late will result in a forfeit loss.
Teams will be granted two (2) wild cards which can be used for delaying a match for (20) minutes. These wildcards may only be used when really needed (e.g.: technical issues).
Each team must have five players on the match server at the match start time as indicated by the schedule, unless permission has been granted by the tournament admins to play with less than five players.
Spectators are not allowed on the match server. Only tournament admins, shoutcasters and Source TV servers may be in spectator mode during a match.
Teams are permitted ten (10) minutes of warm-up time before the first round of the first map in a match unless otherwise said by the tournament admin. After five minutes, the match may be forced to start by the tournament admins.
Teams are permitted two (2) pauses per map in each match, each pause having a maximum duration of five (5) minutes.
Pauses may be taken for any reason.
Teams are not permitted to unpause a match without consent from the other team in that match.
Pauses must occur before the start of a round (during buy-time). Any pauses after that are considered illegitimate and must be unpaused immediately until the round is finished.
Teams are permitted to substitute players during pauses and between rounds. Consent for substitutions must be obtained from the tournament admins, and substitute players must be registered for that team in the tournament.
Excessive use (“spam”) of global written chat (say commands) in game is not allowed.
If a match is unexpectedly interrupted (for example, by a server crash, power failure or other technical fault), and cannot be continued, the round in progress will be replayed.
The admin is allowed to take over your computer before ,during and after a game and have a look without the pc's owner in question nearby, the person in question can appoint someone to stay with the admin to make sure no privacy issues are violated, any trace of cheats found on a player's computer - even if such discovery took place outside of a game - can lead to exclusion from any competition.

- Cheating
All programs or files, be they changed game files or new files, that change the game or add to its functionality, or that interact with the game in any way, are strictly forbidden. Modified versions of the game's resource files are always forbidden, regardless of what they do. The use of any forbidden program or file by any team member during a match leads to a forfeit loss for that team, and may result in disqualification from the tournament.
Programs that do not interact with the game in any way are allowed, even if they can be used and operated simultaneously with the game. Voice communication programs are examples of such programs.
- Game structure
Frag-o-Matic will use a pool system and a winner-losers bracket system.
Each pool will exist out of 3-6 teams who will compete against each other to make it into the brackets.
Each team within the pool needs to play against any other team within the pool. This 1 time 30 rounds (Play the full round because every win round counts). The map will be picked by
Only 8-16 teams (depends on the number of teams) will make it to the bracket system.
The bracket system will work with a winner’s bracket and a losers bracket were a BO3 (best of three) will be played. When a team wins 16 rounds he will win that map.
The map is chosen by an elimination of 2 maps by each team witch map they don’t want to play followed by each team choosing a map from the remaining maps they want to play. (VETO rules) When needed a 3th map is the map that remains on the list. With 7 maps that can be played, 4 maps eliminated and 2 maps played the remaining map will be the 3th map to play.
For each map played in the pool the admin will provide a random map pick between those 7 maps.
Pool system
A new pool system will be launched this year to ensure a fair game. All rounds won and lost counts. The next system is used :
A win-loss ratio from a team between the rounds will count.
For each win game u will receive 10 extra win rounds (so 16-14 becomes 21-14)
The rankings within the pool will be decided by that ratio.
The 2-4 teams (depends on the number of teams) with the highest ratio will go through to the bracket system were they will start in the winners bracket.
